The SDCEP Prevention and Treatment of Periodontal Diseases in Primary Care guidance was first published in 2014. A multidisciplinary Guidance Development Group (GDG) comprising members from a range of dental specialities and patient representatives has reviewed and updated the guidance, with assistance from the SDCEP Team.
The updated guidance aligns with Public Health England’s Delivering Better Oral Health toolkit and guidance from the British Society of Periodontology. The guidance is being made available for consultation to enable wider stakeholder input.
Our intention is to publish the second edition of the guidance in a web-based format that will allow easy access and navigation from both desktop computer and on mobile devices.
