SDCEP Conscious Sedation for Dental Care Information Leaflets - Patient and Public Questionnaire

The Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) is supporting a clinical trainee quality improvement project to develop four information leaflets about conscious sedation for dental care: two for patients and two for those who escort the patient.  To obtain the views of patients and members of the public about these information leaflets we would be grateful if you would complete a short questionnaire.

Please note that having dental treatment under conscious sedation, where the patient remains awake, is not the same as having dental treatment under general anaesthetic (“being put to sleep”).

These leaflets are about two types of conscious sedation: 1. Intravenous Sedation and 2. Inhalation Sedation.  For convenience here, the patient and escort leaflets for intravenous sedation are in one file for you to read together, and the patient and escort leaflets for inhalation sedation are in a second file to read together.

Instructions

Firstly, please read either the intravenous sedation leaflets or the inhalation sedation leaflets below and then answer the questions by clicking on the questionnaire link.  Your answers will be anonymous.  It is anticipated that reading each set of leaflets and answering the questions will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

If you would like to provide feedback on both the intravenous sedation and inhalation leaflets, please feel free to do so by completing the questionnaire a second time.
